The Ainsworth, Hoboken, is a waterfront restaurant with great American-style food in a relaxed and stylish setting. We spoke to the restaurant’s team to get a deeper look into the menu options, bar, atmosphere, and event offerings. Here’s what we found.
Q: You describe the menu as American cuisine. Can you recommend some signature dishes for first-time visitors, and how would you describe the restaurant’s culinary style?
A: American-style food restaurants typically offer classic and fusion cuisine, so meals range from things like gourmet burgers to our mac and cheeseburgers. Obviously, the pizzas are a classic. But honestly, everything’s delicious, so it depends on the customer; whether they want something more familiar or a little different depends on them.
Q: Awesome, thanks! And can you tell me about the decor? What inspired the interior design, and how is the overall concept incorporated into the look and feel of the place?
A: Although the restaurant is relaxed, we still wanted it to be somewhat elevated, especially since our kitchen specializes in gourmet cuisine. We’re right by the Hoboken waterfront, so we’re lucky when it comes to scenery. So it was a fine line, trying to keep the vibe of the place sophisticated without making it too formal or detracting from the waterfront view. The outside area is simpler, while the inside is more extravagant and playful to reflect our crowd and menu.
Q: Awesome. The playful elements make sense, considering you guys offer crazy cocktail options like the espresso martini tower. Do you host things like events or private dinner functions?
Yes, we do. We’re open for private functions, and our kitchen does full-scale catering, and of course, we’ve got the bar. It’s so much easier to organize a get-together when the decor and menu are already sorted. We host up to 200 guests, which is pretty cool – and the team is used to large and small-scale functions. We also have an event calendar and 28 HD screens so people can pull through to watch the game or whatever. It gets quite packed, so we recommend large groups reserve in advance. But yeah, the events are pretty fun.
Awesome. Where can interested customers check out your menu and events or contact your team?
Everything is on the website. Just head to our menu or event booking contact form. We post regularly on Instagram, so that’s another way to get a feel of the vibe and stay updated.
